Getting ready for 2026-27

Gobert did suit up for France's victory over Slovenia on Thursday, so Sunday appeared to be a maintenance-related absence. The veteran center is getting ready for his fifth season with the Timberwolves in 2026-27, and it's plausible that Minnesota will rely even more on Gobert now that big man Naz Reid has been sent to Charlotte in exchange for star point guard LaMelo Ball. Gobert has averaged a double-double and at least one block while shooting no lower than 62 percent from the field in 10 consecutive seasons.

Sent to Minnesota

Konchar was traded from Memphis to Utah ahead of last season's trade deadline, finishing the campaign with averages of 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks in 19.9 minutes per tilt across 56 regular-season games (eight starts) between the two clubs. According to Charania, the Timberwolves are expected to waive-and-stretch Konchar.

Headed to Minnesota

Williams will get a fresh start in Minnesota after taking a bit of a leap in his sophomore season. The 21-year-old wing played in 67 regular-season games (41 starts) last season, averaging 8.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 steals while shooting 46.8 percent from the field in 24.3 minutes per showing. However, the Colorado product faces plenty of competition for minutes in Minnesota and isn't guaranteed meaningful burn.
