Joining NOLA for training camp

Although Shumate appears to have landed a training camp deal with New Orleans, all three of the Pelicans' two-way roster spots are filled. That likely means the team is preparing to eventually shift the undrafted rookie to the G League's Birmingham Squadron. Shumate averaged 3.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.5 steals in 17.4 minutes per game over four Las Vegas Summer League appearances.

Could return around January

"He is making progress. He is doing better. Every single day, he is doing a little more," Charania said. "I would look at right after New Year's as to where Dejounte Murray could pinpoint to make his return." Recent reports regarding Murray have been positive, but it's essential to note that he'll likely face significant restrictions once he receives clearance to return. With his upside and impressive fantasy resume, however, he'll certainly be worth stashing in most formats.

Says he's feeling good

Williamson, who was shut down on March 19 of last season due to a back bone bruise, is presumably healthy heading into training camp. Trey Murphy noted at Media Day on Tuesday that Williamson is noticeably slimmer, and the front office really talked him up. The talent is undeniable, but his durability will be the key to his having a successful fantasy campaign.
