Prepping for second Wizards stint

Middleton is in line for a different role with the new-look Wizards this time around, though. The veteran forward started each of his 34 appearances in Washington a year ago before being shipped to Dallas as part of the Anthony Davis trade, and he's positioned initially as Davis' primary backup at power forward leading into training camp. Middleton also routinely sat out one leg of back-to-back sets with the Wizards, so it remains to be seen if the team will have a similar workload management plan in store for him as well.

Sitting out FIBA play

There's no report of an injury to Ayton, who appears to be sitting out for maintenance purposes. After being shipped to the Wizards this offseason, the 28-year-old big man is lined up as the primary backup center behind Alex Sarr ahead of training camp.

Traded to Wizards

Mann will add some depth to the Wizards backcourt, where he'll compete for minutes with Bub Carrington and Tre Johnson. Mann averaged 5.5 points and 1.6 assists on 36/32/85 shooting splits with the Hornets last season.
